Sleek, stylish and safe – no, not the cars outside the new Silverstone Experience, but the row of PAS 68 HVM security bollards in front. Supplied by Securiscape at the end of last year, 11 of the high security PAS 68 bollards have been installed across the entrance to the £20m attraction which is based at the country’s home of motor racing. Opened by Lewis Hamilton and Prince Harry earlier this year, the Silverstone Experience is a fully immersive venue which tells the exciting tale of motorsport at the UK’s best-known racetrack through a
host of attractions that are ideal for school parties through to motor sport buffs, including classic cars and interactive exhibits. It is guaranteed to bring hordes of visitors to the race track, all of whom will doubtless walk straight past our bollards on their way into the venue without giving them a second thought. That’s fine by us, even if it means that they will not appreciate how the bollards are capable stopping a truck, nor that three of them can be manually lifted up and out to allow for staff to add or remove a classic car from the collection.
And they won’t know how Securiscape took on the task of providing the security measures for Silverstone Experience because we were able to act quickly, efficiently – and cost-effectively.
